DETROIT —
Opening Night. The lights, the hope, the jerseys pulled from the back of the closet.
And… three goals against before you finished your first Bell’s Two Hearted.

A friend texted our group chat an hour in: “Season’s over.”
And honestly, for a split second, we all kind of felt that. It’s the eternal Detroit fan curse — we care too much, too fast.

But hey, that’s what Opening Night is: a clean slate, a fresh heartbreak, and a reminder that optimism in this town should probably come with a warning label.
