Mitten Minute: Lions Win OT Thriller Behind Gibbs’ Monster Day
Good morning, Michigan! Did you ever have somewhere you absolutely had to be… but the game you’re watching goes into overtime?
Yeah — that was me yesterday. We had a 5:00 birthday dinner with family — cousins, aunts, uncles, the whole crew — and I’m sitting there staring at the TV trying to rationalize, “Everyone will understand… right?”
Fortunately, I think half the state stayed home until the end too. And let’s be honest — we were all praying they’d win so the mood would be great when we finally rolled in. 😆
Let’s get after it. Here’s your Mitten Minute Update for Monday, November 24th.
Detroit Lions Win 34–27 in OT
What a Sunday for the Detroit Lions, who pulled off a thrilling 34–27 overtime win against the New York Giants.
Jahmyr Gibbs was unreal, racking up 264 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns. His 69-yard house call on the very first play of overtime sealed the win and sent Ford Field into orbit.
Jared Goff delivered a steady performance as well, throwing for 279 yards and two touchdowns.
