At Mitten Sports Talk, we’re an independent, Michigan-based sports publication covering the State of Sports in Michigan — from pros to preps. Our mission is to deliver local, honest, community-driven coverage that respects readers’ time and intelligence.
How We Create Content
All stories are conceived, written, and edited by humans who follow Michigan sports daily. We research using reliable public sources (team sites, league releases, trusted local and national outlets), conduct our own analysis, and write in a clear, fan-first voice.
We use modern tools (including AI assistants) for research aggregation, outlining, SEO checks, and drafting support. Every article is reviewed, edited, and approved by a human editor before publication. The voice, conclusions, and opinions expressed are those of Mitten Sports Talk and its contributors.
Accuracy & Fact-Checking
- Stats, injuries, transactions, and quotes are verified against official or well-established sources.
- When a fact is uncertain or evolving, we say so and update promptly as information clarifies.
- If we get something wrong, we correct it quickly and transparently with a noted update time.
Use of AI & Digital Imagery
- We may use AI tools to assist with research synthesis, grammar checks, headline variants, and SEO metadata. Editors make final decisions.
- We may publish digital illustrations or concept graphics (e.g., Canva designs). When imagery is illustrative and not a real game photo, we label it (e.g., “Concept Image” or “Digital Illustration”).
- We do not use synthetic media to mislead. Images and captions must not misrepresent real-world events.
